BECOME A VOLUNTEER
We are always in need of more volunteers and extra hands to join our regional teams.
Cooking meals and volunteering for Kura Kai is easy. There is no minimum commitment or expectation, it simply is a model of “Whānau cooking for whānau” as little or as often as you can.
There is no cooking schedule or specific dates we need meals dropped off, our local coordinators love to receive meals all year round, we build stock and aim to have enough meals to give our schools a full freezer load at the start of each school term.
All we expect is that our volunteer guidelines and packaging requirements are followed.
By joining our volunteer facebook groups you can share recipes and bulk cooking ideas, see where the best place is in your area to purchase your foil trays with lids, or even share any good local specials on meat and vegetables.
Our volunteers are amazing people who genuinely care about our kaupapa and want to help Kura Kai feed and nourish as many whānau in need as possible.
They pay for all their own ingredients, foil trays and donate their cooked meals along with their time to Kura Kai. They are the backbone to keeping Kura Kai going and we are always in need of more help.
So please think about joining our team and help us by whipping up a spare meal now and then or even better grab your girlfriends, family, work colleagues and plan a big cook up evening together over a glass of wine. Such a great way to help and contribute to your local community.
